Shepherdstown Information Network About the Shepherdstown Information Network

A free community information network on the web is a natural for a public library. Libraries have always maintained and passed on information about the larger community to anyone who asked. Now that the Shepherdstown Public Library has a home on the web it seemed just as natural for us to add this kind of service; in fact, because of our currently limited space for paper files and the seemingly unlimited space of the internet, it seemed the perfect answer to a need to pull together many links to form a single stronger resource. People can find the information easily either at the library or at home.

A note about how we got here...first, with a lot of help from our friends! Volunteers have been an essential part of this library's history from its earliest beginnings under the auspices of the Shepherdstown Women's Club to the great people we have helping today; they give their time to everything from mending books to building shelves and everything in between. Not least among them are the "Shep Techies" : Kathy Bilton, Dave Hark, Monica Larson and Bob Smith, who have made this work.

It is our hope that this effort will grow and be maintained by volunteers who can receive free training on designing and/or supporting their organization's websites throuth the library's free classes..a full circle community project. Please get in touch with us about adding links, or volunteering, or learning more about how you can help!
