GOOD SHEPHERDS
GOOD TOWN
GOOD NEWSPAPER

The Good News Paper, published by the Shepherdstown Ministerial Association, started out in April 1979 as a 4 page hand-distributed issue. It was originally intended to be an inter-church news and announcement bulletin. During the preparation of the second issue, the crew realized that not only the churches, but the whole town needed a communications vehicle. The town had been without its own publication since 1974 when The Independent ceased publication.

The paper contains no advertisements, but is made possible through the financial contributions of local merchants, as well as individual contributions.

A special 10th anniversary edition was published in 1989. You can see a copy of it in the town library: The Best of the Good: A Commemorative Anthology Celebrating the First 10 Years, 1979-1989
